Brazil top court votes to convict Eduardo Bolsonaro for seeking US help in his father’s coup trial

The court sentenced him to four years and two months in prison.

Jair Bolsonaro's third son, who lives in the United States, had attempted to curry American favor for the former far-right president.

Eduardo Bolsonaro, 41, was charged last year with lobbying US authorities to help the ex-president by imposing tariffs or sanctions on Brazil.

On Tuesday, three of the four justices on the panel voted in favour of conviction, with one remaining justice yet to vote.
