SpaceX Acquires AI Coding Startup Cursor In $60 Billion All-Stock Deal To Compete With OpenAI And Anthropic
The deal will see Musk’s spaceflight and technology business take over Anysphere, the San Francisco-based company behind the coding platform Cursor
The move comes after SpaceX joined New York's tech-focused Nasdaq stock exchange on Friday in the biggest ever listing, valuing it at more than $2tn and raising $85.7bn.
SPCX surged 5% Tuesday, extending gains to 50% above its $135 IPO price and pushing its market cap to $2.642 trillion.
The deal, expected to close in the third quarter of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals, comes just days after SpaceX's record-breaking initial public offering.
