A journalist from the American channel NBC News visited the tunnel. The tunnel is about a 10-minute walk from the destroyed Erez border crossing in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israel Defense Forces said that the tunnel is about 4 km long and extends to Gaza City. The journalist noted that the tunnel inside is reinforced with concrete, in addition, it has underground shafts, which, according to the Israeli military, lead to other levels of the tunnel.
The IDF said that they knew about the tunnel, but had no idea that it was so close to Israeli territory.
