The former Russian division of the French dairy products company Danone will be sold to “Russian investors”.
There are two investors who will equally divide the company’s assets: Vamin Tatarstan and Yakub Zakriev, deputy chairman of the Chechen government and son of Ramzan Kadyrov’s own sister.
The French company Danone is one of the largest producers of dairy products in the world. After the outbreak of a full-scale war in Ukriane, the company decided to hand over its Russian business to local top managers with a buy-back option for 5-10 years, as well as retaining a block of shares.
In the summer of 2023, Putin signed a decree transferring the stakes of “Danone Russia” foreign owners to the temporary management of Rosimushchestvo, i.e. he effectively nationalized them.
