Woman mauled by shark at Australia's Coogee Beach, critically injured
The swimmer was rescued by beachgoers before being taken to hospital in critical condition
Emergency services were called to Coogee Beach in the east of Sydney, Australia’s largest city, in the morning on reports that the 35-year-old had been bitten by a large shark about 30 metres (100 feet) from the shore.
Police rendered first aid to the woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, who had suffered serious arm and leg injuries, before NSW Ambulance paramedics attended.
His drone captured the shark in the shallow water and dappled sunlight, as it slowly swam laps of the bay.
