Vinicius Junior Rescues Brazil In 1-1 Draw Against Morocco At FIFA World Cup 2026

With Brazil floundering during an alarming first half of their World Cup 2026 opener against a slick and bold Morocco, Carlo Ancelotti desperately looked around for a saviour.

On Thursday, Mexico kicked things off by beating South Africa 2-0 in front of a roaring home crowd at Estadio Azteca.

Vinícius Júnior produced a moment of individual brilliance in the 32nd minute to cancel out Ismael Saibari's early opener, rescuing a point for the five-time champions who were outplayed for long stretches.

Those who stayed up late to watch the mouth-watering Morocco vs Brazil clash early on Sunday would probably not have been too surprised by the 1-1 draw, given the Atlas Lions are ranked 7th, just behind the Selecao at 6th.
