US stock market closing: Dow Jones hits record high as Nasdaq falls; bitcoin, gold and oil slide
Stocks were mixed on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average reaching a new record after edging higher and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite falling again, dragged by Apple.
Brent crude futures were up 1 per cent to $74.49 (€65.48) a barrel.
Apple shares fell after price increases, while Micron rose on strong AI-related earnings.
The S&P 500 ended flat and the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.8%, while the Dow Jones added 0.1%.
