US judge rejects Ghislaine Maxwell's attempt to overturn sex trafficking conviction
Ghislaine Maxwell has lost her latest petition to throw out her conviction for helping late Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse and exploit teenage girls.
The ruling closes off Maxwell’s last remaining path to early release after her appeals were exhausted.
Maxwell was trying to vacate her conviction and 20-year prison sentence.
Maxwell, 64, who represented herself, challenged her December 2021 conviction and sentence in Manhattan federal court, and sought a writ of habeas corpus declaring her punishment unlawful.
