UAE extradites alleged international crime boss Daniel Kinahan to Ireland
The Government jet departed Al Maktoum International Airport at about 10.30am Irish time and is expected to arrive in Baldonnel, Co Dublin around 7pm.
It is a moment long sought by law enforcement agencies that named Kinahan as a leader of a cartel said to control about a third of Europe’s cocaine supply, along with running criminal sidelines in firearms and racketeering.
The Irish Government jet has taken off from Dublin, heading to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the extradition.
The extradition followed a final ruling by the Dubai Court of Cassation and was carried out under the bilateral extradition treaty.
