According to the Turkish prosecutor’s office, a total of 46 people were suspected of espionage, some of them had previously traveled abroad. Searches were carried out at 57 addresses.
Detentions took place in eight provinces of Turkey, including Istanbul and Ankara, Turkish TV channel TRT Haber reports. Most of the detainees are foreigners.
The investigation claims that the suspects were going to attack Palestinian activists living in Turkey on instructions from the Mossad. The arrests were made after prosecutors suspected Mossad of allegedly organizing attacks on Palestinians in Turkey by Israeli intelligence, Daily Sabah writes.
