Kaan Ayhan's late goal seals a 3-2 victory despite US topping Group D

Turkiye beat a heavily changed United States 3-2 with a late Kaan Ayhan winner in an action-packed dead-rubber clash that gave the 2026 World Cup cohosts their sternest test so far ahead of the knockout rounds.

Substitute Kaan Ayhan scored in stoppage time to secure Turkey's 3-2 victory over the USA, ending their World Cup 2026 winless streak.

The United States face Turkey on Friday in the final Group D matchday, kicking off at 4am CEST from Los Angeles.
