Trump’s Mixed Signals on Iran Keep Markets Waiting for Clarity
Trump’s legal evasion regarding Iran reveals the rotten state of constitutional war powers.
Trump attended a two-hour meeting in the White House Situation Room on Friday, but did not reach a decision on any new deal with Iran, the New York Times reported.
The war, which began on February 28 following joint US-Israeli strikes on Tehran, has now dragged on for nearly three months.
The agreement described by Trump assumes Iran must meet the terms set by the U.S. This includes Iran allowing for safe passage of all marine traffic through the narrow shipping channel in the Persian Gulf region.
