Trump’s Envoy Gets Chilly Reception on First Trip to Greenland
Protesters in Greenland gathered in the capital Nuuk on Thursday to oppose a growing US presence on the Arctic island after Washington reopened its consulate at a new location.
On Thursday, hundreds marched through Nuuk’s streets carrying signs reading “We don’t want your money” and “Greenlanders know a MAGA Trojan horse when we see one.”
The crowd of a few hundred people walked through the town centre chanting "Greenland is for Greenlanders", before standing in silence with their backs turned towards the consulate.
Protesters rejected US President Donald Trump’s renewed interest in the semi-autonomous Danish island, chanting “No means no.”
