Trump unveils US$22 billion plan to remake Washington Dulles airport
President Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Wednesday afternoon will announce plans for a new renovation project at Dulles International Airport near Washington.
This ambitious airport overhaul is one of several large-scale projects Trump is pursuing to leave a significant mark on the Washington region before his term concludes in January 2029.
But on Wednesday, he unveiled major renovations to a key Washington-area airport — his latest effort to shape infrastructure around the nation’s capital.
The proposal calls for a massive reconstruction of the airport, including four new concourses and major upgrades aimed at transforming Dulles into what administration officials have described as a world-class international gateway.
