Thomas Massie refuses to rule out presidential run in 2028 after losing primary
Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, the Kentucky Republican declined to commit to any specific future plans but left the door open to a White House bid when pressed about speculation among supporters.
Massie lost to congressional candidate Ed Gallrein in Kentucky’s Republican primary last week after months of escalating attacks from Trump, who publicly criticized the Kentucky Republican over repeated breaks with the president and opposition to parts of the GOP agenda.
The libertarian-minded congressman, who will remain in the House of Representatives for the rest of year, promised to stay engaged in politics, even if “it’s from the outside”, and expressed no regrets for the actions that angered Trump, even though they helped prompt his defeat.
