The Swiss government announced that it has joined the EU’s December package of sanctions, which includes, among other things, a ban on imports of Russian diamonds.
“Switzerland thus joins the measures agreed at the G7 summit on December 6, 2023, to deprive Russia of this important revenue stream,” the government communiqué said. The measures take effect tomorrow, February 1.
