Supreme Court Upholds State Restrictions on Transgender Athletes

The states were backed by the law firm Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), while the trans athletes were represented by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Cooley Legal.

The court considered cases from students in two different states who had challenged bans on participation.

The US Supreme Court is set to rule on legality of state laws especially in West Virginia and Idaho which imposed a ban on transgender student athletes from female sports teams in schools and universities.
