Strait of Hormuz has to be open 'one way or the other': Rubio after US strikes on Iran
The U.S. military carried out strikes in southern Iran against targets including mine-laying boats and missile launch sites.
Despite a ceasefire in place since early April, US Central Command said in a statement on Monday it had carried out fresh strikes designed “to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces.”
With the United States and Iran appearing close to concluding an agreement which would potentially end the conflict in West Asia, there are speculations on the key details which are part of the proposed deal, and uncertainty regarding some sticking points.
Iran is expected to begin clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz during a 30-day period after any agreement is reached.
