Serena Williams handed Wimbledon singles wild card
Aged 44, the tennis icon recently made a comeback in doubles at London's Queen's Club.
The 44-year-old had already been given a wild card into the doubles alongside sister Venus after ending a four-year spell away from tennis by beginning her comeback at Queen’s Club.
Williams received the final women’s singles slot, which had a gap following a previous announcement on Tuesday.
Williams is the seven-time Wimbledon singles champion, winning her last title in 2016, before retiring from the sport in 2022.
