Salim Merchant on BTS skipping Grammys: ‘The Recording Academy serves American artistes first’

After making a banger comeback earlier in 2026 three years after their military enlistment, the seven-member band continues to dominate conversations, inspire fans across generations, and attract new listeners every day.

On the official Grammys website, live recordings of the group’s hit songs "Dynamite" from 2021 and "Butter" from 2022 were no longer accessible.

The Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammys, recently announced the Best Asian Pop Music Performance category.
