Putin is losing support even among ideological allies because of the toxicity of his reputation.
The French far-right National Rally party led by Jordan Bardella is ready to supply weapons to Ukraine. Bardella said France must honor the commitment.
“I want Ukraine to have ammunition and [military] equipment so that it can stand up to Russian aggression,” he said.
Earlier, Marine Le Pen, the party’s leader, promised to pull France out of NATO. She was a frequent visitor to Moscow before the war, and her party received funding from Russian banks in exchange for the Kremlin’s support.
Now Bardella is ready to continue military aid to Ukraine, but without arms supplies “that could drag France into a large-scale conflict.” Unlike Macron, he has refused to send French military personnel to Ukraine.
Putin is thus losing support even among his ideological allies. The French far-right National Rally party, formerly close to the Kremlin, is ready to help Ukraine resist aggression, albeit with some reservations.
