Officials call for keeping focus on pushing peacefully for better conditions at Delaney
Days of unrest outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Newark have led to arrests as a tough stance by US President Donald Trump’s administration on immigration policy continues to draw opposition — including from authorities in Democratic-led states.
Mikie Sherrill (D) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin found common ground on Saturday after the governor deployed state police to maintain order outside a Newark immigration detention center that has been the site of escalating protests.
Fox News Digital observed stockpiles of masks, duct tape, medical supplies, sunscreen, hard hats, goggles and other protective gear in containers and laid out on tables near the protest site.
