New York Times files motion to quash subpoenas served on journalists over Air Force One coverage
The reporters had recently published articles that disclosed security concerns about President Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One jet.
Senior White House officials were asked to hand over their mobile phones as part of an investigation into leaks about security concerns surrounding a Qatari-gifted aircraft intended for use as Air Force One, according to CNN.
The subpoenas sought to force the reporters to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan this week after they reported on security concerns involving the new Air Force One.
The filing was made under seal in the Southern District of New York, where the journalists were summoned in subpoenas delivered last Friday to testify before a federal grand jury.
