New Jersey Removes Thousands of Noncitizens From Voter Rolls

The timing is bad for Democrats as the House has already passed legislation requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register for federal elections, while the broader Trump-backed SAVE America Act remains blocked in the Senate amid Democratic opposition and questions from some Republicans over implementation and potential political consequences.
New Jersey's governor has said that a "serious software error" at the state's department of motor vehicles led to around 6,600 non-US citizens being registered to vote, and that "fewer than 400" of them wrongly cast ballots.
