Nepal flooding: Hundreds dead, missing after glacier collapse

Rescuers are racing to find survivors before more potential flooding occurs.

More than two dozen helicopter crews spent all day today scouring a remote river valley that runs through Tibet and Nepal, looking for signs of life.

India has stepped up its relief efforts in flood-ravaged Nepal, with another Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft taking off on Thursday carrying 37.5 tonnes of relief supplies, including medicines and food items.

The Nepali Army continued rescue operations on Thursday after a catastrophic flash flood swept through the Himalayan border region, leaving more than 1,000 people missing in Nepal and neighbouring China.
