Nepal Disaster Update: Death Toll Rises to 626, Nearly 2,500 Still Missing as Rescue Continues

Rescue operations entered their fourth day near the Nepal-China border on Saturday, with at least 2,478 people still untraced after devastating flash floods buried homes and swept away lives earlier this week.

Chinese rescuers continued searching for survivors from this week’s devastating floods along the border with Nepal as the operation passed a critical 72-hour window.

Massive floods in Nepal's Bhote Koshi River have resulted in over 175 deaths and more than 1000 missing, including tourists.

The decision was reconsidered within roughly a day as countries pressed for assistance amid concerns over their nationals reported missing in the disaster.
