NASA Taps Bezos’ Blue Origin, Firefly for Moon Base Contracts
Both countries now see the moon as the next stage for human exploration and a race for leadership in deep space.
The space agency outlined the first phase of its moon base plans on Tuesday, awarding hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts to four U.S. companies.
The missions are intended to help NASA test commercial landers, autonomous vehicles and lunar surface operations before astronauts begin spending longer periods on the Moon under the Artemis program.
