Modi vows ‘stringent punishment’ for exam fraud fuelling India’s youth-led ‘Cockroach’ protests

Dozens of other reels on social media showed protesters, some as young as 16, sobbing as they are beaten and tear-gassed by police.

On Monday, thousands of protesters had defied restrictions and marched toward Parliament before police broke up the demonstration with tear gas and batons.
