Meta has discontinued an artificial intelligence image-generation feature launched through Instagram after facing criticism over privacy concerns and complaints that users were automatically enrolled without clear consent.

Meta has rolled back its ‘Muse Image’ AI feature after widespread backlash over privacy and consent.

Meta, owner of Facebook and Instagram, had launched Muse Image on Tuesday, its first image-generation model from Meta Superintelligence Labs.

The feature, integrated into its Meta ‌AI chatbot, can use photos as input and lets users edit generated images directly through sketches.
