Kentucky governor calls on McConnell to prove he is fit to serve or resign: 'Address the people'
His lengthy absence and past health scares are fueling speculation about his capacity to serve.
More than six weeks after Senator Mitch McConnell, the former Republican leader from Kentucky, entered the hospital and vanished from public life, the state’s ambitious Democratic governor, Andy Beshear, sent him a letter.
The Republican senator has not been seen in public since his hospitalization for an unspecified medical condition on June 14.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked Beshear if he believes the photos released by McConnell’s office were an “accurate portrayal” of the senator’s condition.
