Karoline Leavitt to step down as Trump’s White House press secretary

President Trump hailed Leavitt as 'one of my most trusted aides' as he announced she would step down at the end of the month.

Leavitt is the latest in a series of senior Trump officials to step down from his second administration.

She gave birth to a daughter, Viviana, in May, and returned from maternity leave last month.

He described her as "an influential voice within the Republican Party" as the party works to hold Congress in the midterm elections.
