Ivory Coast striker Wahi denied entry to Canada before Germany match
Wahi allegedly earned an intentional yellow card during a French Ligue 1 match against Metz on May 17
In a disturbing piece of news coming from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, it has emerged that Ivory Coast attacker Elye Wahi was arrested late last month as part of fixing investigations.
He was reportedly arrested less than two weeks ago and is the subject of an “active investigation” to establish whether the forward deliberately earned a yellow card while playing for Nice against Metz in Ligue 1 on 17 May.
The news follows his recent link to a sports corruption investigation in France.
