Israeli strikes kill at least 20 in Lebanon hours after ceasefire
The truce, agreed to on Friday afternoon, had appeared to largely hold until Lebanese state media reported Israeli airstrikes on towns and cities in southern Lebanon, beginning shortly after midnight, that killed several people.
In numerous incidents throughout Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday morning, the Hezbollah terrorist organization launched more than 50 projectiles toward IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon.
Mediators were scrambling to halt the fighting between Israel and the militant Lebanese Hezbollah group, after a heavy exchange on Friday killed at least 47 people in Lebanon and four Israeli soldiers.
