Iran and Oman reaffirm sovereignty over Strait of Hormuz
Tehran voiced Tuesday its intent to maintain control over the vital Strait of Hormuz, a crucial question in the Middle East war talks with Washington that just wrapped up in Switzerland.
Trump's Truth Social post came a day after dozens of vessels had been tracked transiting the strait that had been closed by Tehran and prompted a retaliatory U.S. move to block Iranian ports.
The moves come even as negotiations with the United States and Iran’s neighbors over managing the vital waterway are taking place.
Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf arrived in Oman on Monday, to discuss joint efforts to consolidate Iranian arrangements for managing shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
