Indonesia monitors 9 nationals after Israel intercepts Gaza flotilla
A live feed on the Global Sumud Flotilla website showed armed Israeli soldiers boarding the vessels as activists in life vests put their hands up.
The 11 Australians were among 426 people taking part in a 54-vessel flotilla from 39 countries aiming to challenge a naval blockade of Gaza and draw attention to Palestinians’ living conditions in the war-battered coastal territory.
Abukeshek and Abu Mahfuz were added to the list of specially designated nationals (SDN) for their association with the PCPA, which was sanctioned by OFAC in January for allegedly serving as a front group for Hamas.
The sanctions on Tuesday come as the Israeli military continues to intercept the latest fleet of Gaza-bound ships.
