The story began in May last year when the pigeon was “caught” by the RCF police at Pir Pau jetty in the suburbs of Chembur. Law enforcement officers were alarmed by the appearance of the bird – it had copper and aluminum rings on its legs, and under its wings it had messages written in a font similar to Chinese characters.
An investigation began, during which it turned out that the pigeon was from Taiwan and had participated in open water racing. During the competition, the bird flew over the border and landed in Indian territory.
