Gunmen Attack a Major Airport in Niger
Government forces killed 22 assailants and arrested about 20 others
The first explosions occurred at around 6 am local time (0500 GMT) and sporadic gunfire was still audible nearly two hours later, Reuters reported.
No one has taken responsibility but Islamists are suspected of being behind the attack.
A Niger government spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
