Government Deal With Trump Expands to End Tax Audits

An expanded settlement agreement was signed by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and posted on the Justice Department’s website on Tuesday.

The new provision was released just one day after Mr. Trump agreed to drop his suit in exchange for the creation of a $1.8 billion compensation fund for people he believes were wronged by federal investigations or prosecutions.

The president and his sons’ finances will be further shielded as part of a settlement of the US$10 billion case over his leaked tax returns

The Internal Revenue Service cannot ever bring claims against President Donald Trump, his family or businesses for past tax issues under the additional terms published Tuesday in the agreement the Justice Department reached with Trump to resolve his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS for the disclosure of his tax returns.
