Global views of China and Xi improve as perceptions of US decline, Pew survey finds
Xi Jinping viewed more favorably than Trump across much of Europe and the Americas
The poll was conducted from February to May, a period when the United States and Israel were engaged in a war against Iran.
Global views of the United States worsened last year as President Donald Trump’s second term began, though most people still had a more positive opinion of the US than China.
More people have favorable views of China than the U.S. in 25 out of the 36 countries and territories that were surveyed, including Canada and Mexico.
