Germany’s railroad has been constantly criticized in recent years because of late trains. Siemens Mobility, which manufactures railroad trains was looking for an IT specialist to work with the Windows 3.11 system, which was released in November 1993.
Siemens said that since trains and railroad infrastructure have a life expectancy of 30 years or more, the company continues to use the old software.
