FIFA suspends Argentina's Paredes for 10 games over World Cup final clashes
Midfielder banned and fined after World Cup final chaos vs Spain
Paredes’ team-mate Nahuel Molina, has been hit with a seven-game after sparking the chaotic melee by striking Spain captain Rodri.
The ban for Paredes — who grabbed Spain’s Eric García by the throat and pushed Gavi to the ground — ranks with the FIFA sanctions for Uruguay forward Luis Suárez in 2014 as among the most severe in World Cup history.
A scuffle erupted following the final whistle when Argentina midfielder Paredes pushed Spain's Gavi to the ground as the European champions' substitutes rushed onto the field to celebrate.
