A Los Angeles federal judge declared a mistrial on Friday after a jury could not reach a verdict for a 30-year-old man charged with setting one of the most destructive fires in California history.
The former Uber driver pleaded not guilty in October and faces up to 45 years in prison.
The conflagration stands as the most destructive in Los Angeles County's history and claimed at least a dozen lives.
