European allies flock to Kyiv to pledge more defences against Russian bombardment
Ahead of the meeting with European leaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed the extent of the weapons deficit, releasing usually closely guarded numbers and seeking a package of at least 300 missiles for the upcoming winter.
Ukraine on Monday hosts a meeting of its key European backers to press for air-defence supplies and more pressure on Moscow, with Russian attacks killing more civilians than at any time since the first months of the invasion.
On Sunday, waves of Ukrainian drones targeted Russia's economy, hitting a massive retail warehouse outside of Moscow.
Zelensky also raised concerns over possible Russian moves into northern Ukraine, naming the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
