Congo Faces Surge in Ebola Cases as Key Medical Tools Run Short
An Ebola treatment tent operated by Doctors Without Borders in eastern Congo has been burned by residents, the second such attack in one week.
The last World Health Organization (WHO) toll on Friday put the number of deaths at 177 from 750 suspected cases.
The move comes after the World Health Organization, under the International Health Regulations (IHR), 2005, declared the situation a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on May 17, 2026.
