East Asia braces for destructive typhoon as landslides kill 15 in Philippines
Typhoon Bavi, which spans 1,000km (620 miles) at its widest point – roughly the width of France – is sweeping across the Pacific towards Taiwan.
Nearly 50,000 have been affected by Typhoon Inday and the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat.
A powerful typhoon was heading toward China's east coast Friday, the latest in a series of deadly storms that have already claimed 50 lives this week in two other parts of the country.
At least five people were killed in another landslide in the southern province of Lanao del Sur, local media reported.
