German Rail Halted Nationwide Services After Radio System Outage

A problem with a communications system forced Germany’s railway system to halt all trains late Tuesday, leaving passengers stranded across the country.

After decades of underinvestment which have led to trains often running late, Germany is trying to rapidly modernise its ageing rail network with massive public investment.

German rail company Deutsche Bahn apologised to passengers for the situation and reportedly issued taxi and hotel vouchers to people affected.
