According to Czech President Petr Pavel, his country has developed a “creative” method of delivering shells to Ukraine, but funding is needed to implement it.

At a discussion attended by the leaders of five EU member states President Petr Pavel spoke about problems with the supply of arms and ammunition to the Ukrainian armed forces. He said that Prague had found a solution to organize such supplies.

“We need to support Ukraine in supplying ammunition from every possible source. We need to be as innovative and flexible as Ukrainian soldiers and look for military equipment everywhere,” he said.

Pavel said the Czech Republic “actively seeks out military supply opportunities around the world and then cooperates with NATO partners.” He singled out Denmark, the Netherlands, and Canada, which have provided resources to organize the supply of military equipment to the Czech Republic. “We then promptly send this equipment to Ukraine,” he explained.

Pavel stated that the Czech Republic has been successful in their quest.

“Now we have found half a million 155 mm shells, and 3 million 122 mm shells, which we can ship (to Ukraine) in a few weeks if we find funding for it. We will ask for this help from partners in the United States, Germany, Sweden, etc.,” he said.
