Nepal flash floods latest: rescue efforts suspended as lake breaks its banks
A fresh emergency alert has triggered panic in parts of Nepal after authorities warned residents near the Mahesh Dobhan area to immediately move to higher ground amid fears of another devastating flood.
As rescue teams searched for missing people following catastrophic flooding along the Nepal-China border, Earth scientists reviewed satellite imagery for clues to the cause and assessed the devastation.
A torrent of water tearing through Gyirong Port, one of the main border crossings between Nepal and Tibet, sweeping away all in its path as hundreds of people fled for their lives.
