Bulgaria: Unknown drone explodes near Romanian border

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on the incident involving a drone explosion that occurred on 8 August near a compressor station of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline in Bulgaria.

The pipeline runs through the Balkans and connects Turkey with Ukraine.

The incident comes shortly after a Russian Kh-101 missile fell inside Poland during strikes on Ukraine.

Drone incursions that western governments have linked to the Russia-Ukraine war have increased in frequency and raised anxiety that members of the NATO alliance need to bolster their defenses against security threats.
