Araghchi: Strait of Hormuz remains under Iranian control for 30 days
Latest exchange of strikes between US and Iran is about far more than retaliation
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has called for domestic and international legal action over what he described as crimes committed against Iran, accusing the United States and Israel of responsibility for the deaths of civilians, including newborns, elderly people and senior Iranian figures.
Tehran has continued to insist on controlling passage through the vital strait, through which a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas travel in normal times, something it did not have before the war.
The four-day cycle of attacks that Iran set off with the United States over the Strait of Hormuz has risked derailing the newly reached cease-fire in a war both sides are eager to end.
